Tim Remmers

Tim began racing Formula Vees at the Regional level in Sports Car Club of America "SCCA" in 1992.  Since 2000, he has been racing at the National level and has been invited to and raced in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs 5 times.  He has recently branched out into other forms of motorsport, including ice racing with AMEC and circle track racing at Monadnock Speedway in a friends Saab 900.  Tim ran the 2009 LeMons New England at Stafford Springs where his team Adopted by Jets took 2nd place in their class (the ugly).  He has converted an old Saab to be run in the 4-cylinder Enduro class, primarily at Monadnock Speedway, but it will also be run at the Stafford Motor Speedway LeMons race in July 2010.

Brian Remmers

Brian raced a limited go kart schedule with WKA from 1998 to 2000, as Tim's race schedule allowed.  For several years, Brian focused on snowboard racing so Tim could run a complete National race schedule.  Recently, Brian started autocrossing his MGB with CART CT; he completed his SCCA driver's school and ran his first race in the Formula Vee at Watkins Glen in October 2008.  He ran his first ice race with AMEC in the Saab 900 during the Winter 2009 and ran the Formual Vee at the SCCA Regional level for their 2009 season, finishing second in the NARRC points.  Brian spends his free time competitive ballroom dancing at the collegiate level.

 Renee Remmers

Renee raced a few go kart events with WKA from 1999 to 2000, since that was all Tim's race schedule allowed.  Renee's main focus was on ski racing with the Ski Sundown Race Team.  She was also a member of her high school soccer and track teams.  As a 300 meter hurdler and 400 meter single and relay team competitor, she qualified and participated in not only the Class M Championships, but the States as well.  She is a college student majoring in Computer Science and Technology and a member of the women's soccer team.  In 2009 Renee made her debut at a CART autocross event and took first place in the novice class running a 1993 Saab 900.  She's branching out into ice racing and a LeMons event for 2010.

 Grainne Drollas
Tim enlisted Grainne as a driver for our first TeamRemmers LeMons race with Norman at Stafford Motor Speedway in July 2010.  Grainne was quick to say "yes", but since she had no auto racing experience, she had many concerns about whether she would be holding the team back from a chance to win.  Tim was persuasive, told her it was all about having a good time, and we now had a fourth driver for the event.  It took just one session in the car and Grainne was hooked.  When we had a mechanical issue and were ready to give up, Grainne pleaded with her Uncle Tim to please get the car running because she wanted to drive some more.  Well, Norman's problem was found and fixed and Grainne got her wish to go back out on track.  Late in the fall, Tim signed Grainne up for a driving school at New Jersey Motorsports Park and the two had an awesome weekend.  Grainne is going to be a regular driver on our LeMons race team for the 2011 season.  You can read just how she felt about her first auto race by checking out the writeup of the Stafford Motor Speedway event on our Race Summaries page.
